Goldhurst Terrace
Exterior & Interior Design
A garden maisonette in West Hampstead, London was redesigned into a light-filled space that merged the outdoors with the indoors. The client was keen to transform the exceptionally long, overgrown and neglected garden by creating a new habitable space whilst reimagining the existing interior. We introduced colour, natural light and volume which bought the space right up to date. Our client loved how we managed to regenerate the space to become this flexible family home that had wellbeing at its core.
By using ceramic timber flooring we were able to take the inside out and connect to a new terrace. The new space at the end of the garden was constructed from and clad in timber, with a green roof and consisted of a kitchen, shower room and flexible living area to create a purposeful garden house.
The client agreed that we needed to reconfigure the existing interior of the main property to maximise space. We opened up areas where we were able to design an elegant installation that housed fitted wardrobes, a library, storage and a TV area. We also designed several fittings including the bespoke dining banquettes.
Together with our client, we created a cohesive project that joined the two main elements and influenced by the sensational trees and surrounding nature.
